Miller Wrestles to Bronze

(BEIJING, August 17) – United States wrestler Randi Miller beat Martine Dugrenier of Canada to clinch bronze in the Women’s Freestyle Wrestling 63 kilogram weight class on Sunday, August 17.
Miller stayed undefeated in this tournament until losing to Athens champion Icho Kaori of Japan in the quarterfinals, but quickly bounced back to defeat Olesya Zamula of Azerbaijan and Canadian wrestler Dugrenier in the repechage round to win a bronze.
Miller earned her Olympic berth by defeating 2004 silver medalist Sara McMann during the 2008 US Olympic trials in Las Vegas.

I woke up this morning to see the Bronze medal bout between Randi Miller and her Canadian opponent. My first time watching women wrestle in the Olympics. I felt a surge of pride as I watched Ms. Miller win the bout in those final seconds … although, I’ll admit that I thought the score was tied 3-3 and would go into overtime…
